John Edward Tarr, 64, of Cuba died Jan. 30, 2025, in Chesterfield. Mr. Tarr worked as a civil engineer for Simmons Engineering. In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Order Beta Alpha Chapter at Missouri University of Science and Technology. Born Jan. 17, 1961, in Kansas City, he was the son of the late Clarence “Mike” Tarr and Gay (Maggi) Tarr.
He is survived by his wife: Janet Lynn Tarr of Cuba; two daughters: Magan (Dylan) King of Arnold and Heather (Yajie) Yu of East Greenwich, R.I.; two brothers: Jerry (Diane) Tarr of Westerville, Ohio, and Jeff (Cindy) Tarr of Emporia, Kan.; and numerous other family members and friends.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 18, at Mahn Funeral Home De Soto Chapel, 900 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Licklider Cemetery in Cuba.
