Joan Anne Cassady, 82, of De Soto died Sept. 4, 2025. Mrs. Cassady was a retired machine operator at Koller Craft and the owner of Cassady’s Corner Greenhouses. She was a member of the Kress Farms Garden Club. Born July 5, 1943, in Old Mines, she was the daughter of the late Edna Dorothy (Thebeau) and John “Tony” Villmer Jr.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Gordon H. Cassady.
She is survived by two children: James L. Pratt Jr. and Jacqueline Ann “Jackie” (Edward) Schmaltz of De Soto; six grandchildren: Brittany (Neill) Burchett, Annie (Mike) Hall, Amanda (Phil) King, James “Bo” (Jennifer) Pratt III, Tyler (Hayley) Iwasyszyn and Colton (Abi) Pratt; 13 great-grandchildren; and three siblings: Bernis Villmer of Kansas, Dave (Christina) Villmer of Sullivan and Mary Lou (Dave) Speidel of De Soto.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers: Thomas Villmer and Glennon Villmer and two sisters-in-law: Jackie Villmer and Helen Villmer.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 p.m. until a funeral service at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
