Jesse Levi King, 92, of Dittmer died April 12, 2025. Mr. King was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked for more than 30 years as a fitter/welder at Stupp Brothers Bridge and Iron. He enjoyed the great outdoors, spending countless hours hunting, fishing and tending to his garden. A skilled woodworker with a creative spirit, he could often be found crafting pieces in his workshop. In his younger years, he loved living on a farm, raising horses and cattle and working the land. He will be remembered for his hard work, his love for nature and his deep-rooted values. Born Oct. 9, 1932, in Kennett, he was the son of the late Noah and Georgia (Mills) King.
He is survived by his wife: Donna L. (Schmoll) King; seven children: Lisa D. Whitener, Sandy G. King, Roger P. (Paula) King, Robert “Bob” J. (Misty) King, Brian K. (Tracie) King, James M. (Leann) King and Theresa A. (special friend Darla) King; 15 grandchildren: Chris, Eli, Ben, Rachel, Mandolin, Angel, Lisa, Mariah, Brandon, Katie, Jessica, Logan, Jacob, Abigail and Trevor; 10 great grandchildren: Theo, Will, Charlotte, Henry, Nicholas, Savannah, Harlem, Ivy, Denim and Elijah; five siblings: Mildred Lewis, Freda Casteel, Gary King, Charles King and John King; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son: David King; and four siblings: Audrey Newberry, Theodore King, Nina Rauls and Harry King.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1500 San Simeon Way, in Fenton. A luncheon will follow services with a procession scheduled for 1 p.m. to the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. A graveside service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church and School. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
