Jesse L. Guenther, 92, of Imperial died Sept. 8, 2026, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis. Mr. Guenther was a tool cutter and grinder at Missouri Tool. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a member of Amvets Post 48. Born Sept. 17, 1933, in Bliss, he was the son of the late Ed and Dollie (Miller) Guenther.
He is survived by his wife: Sylvia C. (Maloney) Guenther of Imperial; three children: Allan Guenther of Old Mines, Darlene (Terry) Kavanaugh of Bonne Terre and Kathy (Scott) Boyer of St. Louis; four siblings: Delmar Guenther of Potosi, Glen Guenther of Potosi, Frank Guenther of Blackwell and Shirley Johnson of Fletcher; five grandchildren: Tabatha Veach, Dane Kavanaugh, Jody Guenther, Greg Guenther and Crystal Boyer; his great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Art Guenther and Bill Guenther; five sisters-in-law: Theresa Guenther, Wanda Guenther, Esther Guenther, Jeanette Guenther and Donna Guenther; a brother-in-law: Gene Johnson; and two grandchildren: Shaun Boyer and Tadd Boyer.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
