Jesse Dale Sittner, 90, of Arnold died June 8, 2026, at his home. Mr. Sittner was an ironworker with Ironworkers Union Local 396. Retiring in 1995, he remained an honorary member and was recently honored for his membership of 70 years. He was also a member of the Arnold Eagles Lodge 3678, where he had served as a trustee and bar manager for 10 years. Born Feb. 22, 1936, in Risco, he was the son of the late Irene (Boothe) and Jesse P. Sittner.
He is survived by his wife: Phyllis (Yount) Sittner; three children: Harold Sittner of Lake Ozark, John Sittner of Moberly and Jesse “Patrick” Sittner of De Soto; five stepchildren: Thomas (Kerri) Schopp of St. Louis, Joshua Schopp of Barnhart, Nubby (Paulinda) Eberhardt of Festus, Jenni Eberhardt of Festus and Abbe (Andy) Grass of Arnold; a sister: Shirley Sittner of St. Louis; a brother: Charles “Scooter” Sittner of Freeburg, Ill.; a special grandson: Landon Eberhardt, whom he spent many days with and taught him many things; and numerous other grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Wendy Sittner; and a son: Christopher Dale Sittner.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until funeral services at 1 p.m. Friday, June 12, at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home, 9115 Commercial Blvd., in Pevely, officiated by Pastor Patrick Adam, Pastor of Twin City Church of Christ in Festus. Interment will follow in Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home.
