Jerry Lemroe Jaycox, 72, of High Ridge died April 22, 2025. In 1978, Mr. Jaycox started and opened United Glass Co. and worked for the company until his passing. He was known for his hard work and success in all his years working in the glass industry. He was also an avid fisherman and loved to cook, gamble and, most of all, spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be remembered for being a master at giving everyone a nickname. Born April 29, 1952, in Belleview, he was the son of the late Lloyd G. and Helen (Racer) Jaycox.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Patricia Ann (Hughes) Jaycox, whom he married on Aug. 18, 1973.
He is survived by two children: Jason (fiancee Kayla) Jaycox of Fenton and Teresa Jaycox of Herculaneum; four grandchildren: Wyatt, Makayla, Karmen and Caden; two great-grandchildren: Dexter and Deakon; his fiancee and companion of 17 years: Patricia Ann Martin; two sisters: Linda Garrett and Debbie Cooper; and many other family members and friends.
He also was preceded in death by four brothers: Gary Jaycox, Clyde Jaycox, Lloyd L. Jaycox and Darrell Jaycox; and four sisters: Peggy Putnam, Mary Wucher, Shirley Neighbors and Sally Wells.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 2, at Cole Family Funeral Home, 210 E. Reynolds St., in Ironton. A celebration of life is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Ryan Nichols. Burial will follow in Arcadia Valley Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Cole Family Funeral Home.
