Jerry Dale Ipock, 74, of Festus died June 9, 2026, at his home. Mr. Ipock worked at Martin Merrietta Sand Mines until he went to work at Bodine Aluminum. He then became a siding installer, which he really enjoyed. He loved camping, fishing, bowling and motorcycles. He especially loved being a grandpa, and some called him “Poppy.” Born Feb. 8, 1952, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Betty Jean (Hunt) and Willis Fountain Ipock.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years: Joy (Hamby) Ipock; two sons: Jerry “JD” Ipock II of Litchfield, Ill., and Nathan (Jenny) Ipock of Crystal City; eight grandchildren: Brittney (Anthony), Jonathan, Jordan, Landon, Dayton, Zoey, Kyndall and Mason; three step-grandchildren: Alivia, Andrea and Aiden; five great-grandchildren: Krystalynn, Kinsley, Abigail, Elliot and Grayson; and his twin brother: Gary (the late Christine) Ipock of Imperial.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Clinton Earl (Donna survives) Ipock.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. until memorial services at 1 p.m. Friday, June 19, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Terry Crank. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
