Burhans, Jerome

Jerome R. Burhans, 88, of Janesville, Wis., died March 22, 2026, at St. Mary's Hospital in Janesville. Mr. Burhans was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Japan. He retired from senior VP roles at companies in St. Louis, including Potter, Pacesetter and Sonacom. He worked with his son for many years at a company he founded, Burhans & Burhans in Crystal City, a manufacturer's rep agency. He attended Grace Presbyterian Church in Crystal City and was a member of the Shriners Moolah Clown Unit, Shekinah Lodge 256, Janesville Blackhawk Kiwanis and the Janesville Youth Baseball & Softball Association. In retirement, he was an active umpire and instructor. Born Dec. 5, 1937, in Fort Atkinson, Wis., he was the son of the late Irene Peterson and Rollie Burhans.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years: Patricia Johnson Burhans of Janesville, Wis.; a son: Jerry (Sandy) Burhans of Barnhart; a stepdaughter: Amy McNally (Matt) Dearing of St. Charles; two grandchildren: Zach Burhans of Omaha, Neb., and Jackson Burhans of Lawrence, Kan.; two siblings: Jim (Jeanette) Burhans of Dade City, Fla., and William (Charlene Basler) Kraus of Crystal City; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by two siblings: Joanne (the late George) Black and Judy (Norman Rosen survives of Overland Park, Kan.) Rosen.

Per Mr. Burhans' wishes, there will be no services.
