Jennifer A. (Shepherd) Ruble, 50, of Festus died Sept. 24, 2026, in Reynolds County. Mrs. Ruble was a graduate of St. Louis University, where she received a bachelor of arts degree in communication and advertising. She was a senior copywriting consultant for SSM in their advertising department. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Festus and Women Dems of Missouri. She loved spending time in her garden, where she could enjoy nature and put her creativity to work. She had a love for writing and enjoyed expressing herself through her words. Music was also an important part of her life, and she enjoyed getting lost in a good book whenever she had the opportunity. She was an advocate for the rights of others and cared deeply about animals. Most of all, she loved spending time with and making memories with her family and friends. She will be remembered for the love and happiness she shared with others and her creativity. Born March 13, 1976, in Bologna, Italy, she was the daughter of Gerald Wayne (Carol) Shepherd of Hillsboro and the late Patricia Louise (Tripp) Shepherd.
In addition to her father and his wife, she is survived by her husband of 28 years: Anthony Dwayne Ruble of Festus; two sons: Charles Ruble of Festus and Ian Ruble of Festus; two sisters: Jessie (John Barnes) Shepherd of Festus and Brandi (Metz) Bizzell of Alpharetta, Ga.; a sister-in-law: Becky Uding of Festus; and numerous other family members and friends.
She died with her brother, Christopher James Uding, as a result of the same accident.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Thomas and Margaret Tripp and Thurman and Florene Shepherd.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at First United Methodist Church of Festus, 113 Grand Ave. Memorials may be made to Open Door Animal Sanctuary, 6065 Duda Road, House Springs, 63051, or online at odas.org.
