Jennie Lee Dix, 84, of Herculaneum died Nov. 21, 2023, at her home. Mrs. Dix was a member of First Baptist Church of Herculaneum-Pevely. She enjoyed playing bunko and canasta. Born Jan. 17, 1939, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Tillie (Ladd) and Kermit Burnell. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years: James Wayne Dix Sr.
She is survived by three sons: James W. (Sarah) Dix Jr. of Festus, Richard (Susan) Dix of Perryville and Scott (Denise) Dix of Festus; and seven grandchildren: Hayden, Reagan, Grant, Carter, Garrett, Magnolia and Lucy Dix.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Billy and Ray Sanders.
Memorial gathering is scheduled from 9 a.m. until a service at noon Monday, Nov. 27, at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home, 9115 Commercial Blvd., in Pevely, officiated by Pastor Jeff Purvis of First Baptist Church of Herculaneum-Pevely. Burial will follow in Herculaneum Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Herculaneum-Pevely, 1315 Abbey Lane, in Pevely, 63070. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home.
