Jean Marie Hoelzel, 90, formerly of De Soto, died April 18, 2024, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill. Mrs. Hoelzel was a homemaker and a member of the Joachim Friendship Club. She enjoyed crocheting, crafting, canning and cooking. Born Sept. 1, 1933, in Bonne Terre, she was the daughter of the late Arnetta (Sewald) and Ignatius Aubuchon.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Lindell “Pete” Hoelzel.
She is survived by a child: Steven (Debra) Hoelzel of Glen Carbon, Ill.; a sister-in-law: Sally Aubuchon of Clinton, Tenn.; and many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by a brother: Donald Aubuchon; and a sister: Carolyn (John “Lefty”) Lattay.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a memorial service at 1 p.m. Friday, April 26, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Randy Murphy. Inurnment will take place at a later date at the National Cemetery in Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
