Janet Elizabeth (Engler) McCreary, 86, of Festus died Feb. 17, 2026, at Baisch Nursing Center in De Soto. Mrs. McCreary was a seamstress. Born Feb. 25, 1939, in Fayetteville, Ark., she was the daughter of Kyle and Thelma Helen (Rawlings) Engler.
She was preceded in death by her husband: the Rev. Jack Foster McCreary.
She is survived by two children: Martha (Jeff) Duncan of St. Clair and John (Suzie) McCreary of Waterloo, Ill.; three grandsons: Aaron (Katie Grimm) Valeck, Kenny (Abby) McCoy and Keith (Aleah) McCoy; eight great-grandchildren: Connall, Oliver, Charlie, Paxton, Dalton, Finleigh, Isla and Sullivan; a brother: Robert Engler of Bentonville, Ark.; and many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by a brother: Phillip Engler.
Inurnment will be private in the Four Seasons Mausoleum at Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
