Murphy, James

James Patrick Murphy, 76, of Arnold died May 22, 2025, in St. Louis County. Mr. Murphy was an executive chef for Rigazzi's Restaurant for 56 years. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. He was Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus and the VFW.  Born June 26, 1948, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Dorothy Maxine (Farmer) Murphy and James T. Murphy.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Marilyn (Feld) Murphy of Arnold; two children: Sherry (Earl) Lane of Arnold and Jim (Dawn) Murphy of St. Louis; three siblings: Peggy (William) Schlichtig of Barnhart, Ann (the late Don) Wiemann of Chesterfield and Larry Murphy of St. Louis; six grandchildren: Jonathan Lane, Justin Lane and Jacob Lane, all of Arnold, and Addison Murphy, Emery Murphy and Maggie Murphy, all of St. Louis; a sister-in-law: Shirley Feld of Arnold; many nieces and nephews; and numerous other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by two siblings: Patricia DiLeonardo and Joseph Murphy; and siblings-in-law: Geraldine and William Hartmann.

Visitation is scheduled for 4 p.m. Monday, June 2, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, at Mary, Mother of the Church, 5901 Kerth Road, in St. Louis County. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
