James Michael “Tank” Wamsley, 53, of Herculaneum died Sept. 7, 2026, at his home. Mr. Wamsley enjoyed being outdoors, cheering for St. Louis sports and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, generosity and selflessness. Born Sept. 12, 1972, in St. Louis, he was the son of Linda (Langston) and Vernon Wamsley of St. Louis.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife: Gracellen (Ledoux) Wamsley; a daughter: Brandi (Randall) Roussin of St. Louis; a son: Jack Wamsley of Herculaneum; a sister: Vonda (Teddy Williams) Pippin of De Soto; and many other family members and friends.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a celebration of life at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Memorials may be made to Open Door Animal Sanctuary, 6065 Duda Road, in House Springs, 63051. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
