James Martin Chrismer Sr., 67, of Mehlville died June 10, 2026. Mr. Chrismer was born and raised in Arnold. He attended Fox High School and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Arnold. He served his country as a SP4 in the U.S. Army from 1976 to 1980 and had a strong love for his country, often wearing ball caps and T-shirts with the U.S. Flag. He will be remembered for his wit, thoughtfulness and love of family and friends. Born July 1, 1958, he was the son of the late Mary Jane (Kladis) and Ralph John Chrismer Sr.
He is survived by his significant other: Sandy Nappier; four children: James Martin (Jess) Chrismer Jr., John Robert “JR” (Erin) Chrismer, Jessica Chrismer O’Connell and Jayni (Sean) Conley; six grandchildren: Jaxon, Emersyn, Brayden, Addilyn, Maverick and Maisyn; six siblings: Mary “Joan” D’Ambrose, Judy Black, Janice (Stanley) Davenport, Charles (Carol) Chrismer, Jill (Robert) Markham and Laura Jean Holt.
He was preceded in death by Ralph (Elaine survives) Chrismer Jr.
Per Mr. Chrismer’s wishes, his body was donated to science. A celebration of life was held on May 21, as requested by Mr. Chrismer, with his friends and family in attendance to celebrate his life with him.
