James L. "Cotton" Martin, 78, of South St. Louis County died Aug. 2, 2025, in Eureka. Mr. Martin worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Born May 12, 1947, in Quincy, Ill., he was the son of the late Juanita (Pyles) and James Martin.
He is survived by his wife: Shirley A. (Farley) Martin of South St. Louis County; a child: Dave (Tina) Martin of South St. Louis County; a sibling: Mary Martin of Richwoods; and many other family members and friends.
A memorial visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
