Glaze, James

James Ivan “Jake” Glaze, 75, of Imperial died Jan. 20, 2026, at NHC Healthcare in Desloge. Mr. Glaze was an Army veteran of the Vietnam Era, a retired self-employed welder and a member of the Potosi Elks Lodge and the Potosi Eagles Lodge. He loved fishing and spending time with his grandson, granddaughter-in-law and great-grandchildren. Born Oct. 7, 1950, in Watervliet, Mich., he was the son of the late Flora Dean (Elder) and Oda Ray Glaze.

He was preceded in death by his longtime companion: Kathleen (Chotrow) Longley.

He is survived by a grandson: Justin M. (Sheannetta) Glaze of Imperial; brothers: Ronnie (Susan) Glaze of Bonne Terre and Warren (Jan) Glaze of Pevely; six great-grandchildren: Konnaer, Giovanny, Brycenn, Zennadayia, Lilleighanna and Wayllynn Glaze; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He also was preceded in death by a son: Toby James Glaze; and siblings: Dwight (Joyce survives of Crofton, Md.) Glaze, Guy Glaze, Barry Glaze Sr., Debbie (the late Larry) Rawlins and infant sister Sharon Glaze.

Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until funeral services at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Deacon Christopher Glaze. Interment will follow in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
