King, James 'David'

James David “Punky” King, 76, of Festus died Nov. 13, 2025, in Farmington. Mr. King was a 1967 Festus High School graduate. He served in the U.S. Marines and retired from the Chrysler Corporation in Fenton after 42 years. He was a 46-year member of the Festus-Crystal City Elks 1721 and a past president of the Festus-Crystal City Conservation Club. He was also a member of the Plattin Rock Boat Club, where he spent many hours fishing and watching the barges on the river. Born July 26, 1949, he was the son of the late James and Doris (Crader) King.

He is survived by his wife: Vicki (Charleville) King; three sons: Johnny, Stephen (Michelle) and Christopher (Tina); a sister: Judie Fatland of Clovis, Calif.; two nephews: David and Jason, along with their families; a sister-in-law: Janet Charleville of north St. Louis; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one more on the way.

Services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.
