Jacqueline Doretta Williams, 86, of Crystal City died Nov. 2, 2023, in St. Louis County. Mrs. Williams was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She will be remembered for having a sweet soul. Born May 12, 1937, in Festus, she was the daughter of the late Gertrude (Meyer) and Louis Adam Gehrs.
She was preceded in death by her husband: John Donald Williams Jr.
She is survived by a daughter: Deborah M. (Kevin) Gorman of Oakville; two sons: Mark S. (Helen) Williams of Bloomsdale and Jeffery A. (Hilary) Williams of Farmington; a brother: William (the late Virginia) Gehrs of Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; as well as many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by a son: John D. Williams; four sisters Joan Carol (the late William P.) Bins, Rosemary (the late Harry) Pelot, Norma L. (the late Leo) Warren and Betty F. (the late August) Edinger; and two brothers: James J. (the late Mary) Gehrs and Robert (the late Helen) Gehrs.
Visitation is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. until funeral services at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Mr. Phil Warren of St. Charles. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
