Duncan, Ida

Ida Frances (Owens) Duncan, 89, of Festus died Aug. 7, 2025. Born Feb. 6, 1936, in Williamsville, Mrs. Duncan was the daughter of the late Luther and Bertha (Groves) Owens.

She was preceded in death by her husband: William “Bill” Duncan, whom she married on July 24, 1950.

She is survived by three daughters: Billie (Norvel) Dutton of De Soto, Dawn Burke of Newton, Ala., and Mary (Jason) Duncan of Arnold; two sons: Robert “Bob” (Debbie) Duncan of Bonita Springs, Fla., and William “Ted” Duncan of Ste. Genevieve; a sister: Ruby Wideman; and four sisters-in-law: Dorothy Owens, Joan Owens, Diane Woodward and Faith Tayeon; 15 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by two sons: Donald “Donnie” Duncan and Ralph Duncan; a granddaughter: Sara Combs; two sisters: Eva and Ruth; and six brothers: Thurman, Calvin, Glen, Carl “Gene,” James “Jim” and Bobby “Bob.”

A celebration of life will be held from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, at the Mississippi River Eagles, 330 Bailey Road, in Crystal City. Inurnment will take place in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks.
