
Hurshel W. “Bill” Head Jr., 78, of Bonne Terre died Jan. 24, 2025. Mr. Head was a truck driver for B&D Hauling. He enjoyed being outdoors and hunting. He will be remembered as a hard worker. Born Sept. 25, 1946, in Cadet, he was the son of the late Revonia Mae (Rhodes) and Hurshel William Head Sr.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Linda Darlene (Walther) Head.
He is survived by three children: Brian (Tammy) Head Sr. of Festus, Lisa (Dennis) Meyer of Festus and Angie (Charlie) Smith of Park Hills; a stepdaughter: Michelle (Jamie) Stahlman of Bonne Terre; three siblings: Garry (Margie) of Richwoods, Roger Head of Harrison, Ark., and Janet (James) Mercer of De Soto; nine grandchildren: Brian (Jessi) Jr., Aaron, Logan, Shawn (Stacy), Shane (Hannah), Cameron (Maddie), Chris, Kristina and Casey; three step-grandchildren: Jessica (Patrick), Jacob (Taiylor) and Jessie; 15 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a step-grandchild: Brandi; and a brother-in-law: George A. Copeland Sr.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, in Woodlawn Cemetery, 1402 S. Fifth St., in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
