Harry E. Wood, 87, of Imperial died May 26, 2026. A U. S. Navy veteran, Mr. Wood served for four years aboard the USS Willis A. Lee DL-4 out of Newport, R.I. He worked as a typesetter at Skinner and Kennedy, a sales representative at York Typographers and a manager of Jeffco Subcontracting Inc. in Arnold, where he also served on the board of directors. He was a past member and served in various offices and on many boards at Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Arnold. He later became a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Arnold, where he took part in the Care Connections grief support group. He also served on the board of the Missouri Association of Sheltered Workshop Managers. Born June 26, 1938, in Iron County, he was the son of the late Letha Delsie Troutman and John Emery Wood.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years: Janet Lee Pope.
He is survived by three children: Michelle Patricia Wood (Ken) Bushnell of Kissimmee, Fla., Jill Ann Wood (Mike) Eckert of Gilbert, Ariz., and Beth Lynn Wood of Imperial; five grandchildren: Erin Bushnell (Alex) Brown of Kissimmee, Fla., Emily Bushnell of Kissimmee, Fla., Kayla Zeller of Arnold, Jacob Vernon of St. Louis and Anna Kaestner of St. Louis two great-grandchildren: Luke Zeller of Arnold, Enzo Brown of Kissimmee, Fla., and one more on the way due in July; a sibling: Emily Frances Mae Engelhard of St. Peters; and many other family members and friends.
He also was preceded in death by 12 siblings: William (Denver) Wood, Raymond Wood, Irvin Wood, Virgil Wood, Opal Marie Wood Johnson, Hascal Wood, Lowell Wood, Delsie Lorain Wood, John Wood Jr., Jessie Wood Johnson, Bobby Wood and James Wood
Visitation is scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. A funeral service is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 4, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 3517 Jeffco Blvd. in Arnold, officiated by Pastor Jeremy Schultz. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the St. John's Lutheran Church Building Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
