Harry “David” Weiss, 71, of House Springs died April 11, 2025, at his home. Mr. Weiss enjoyed volunteering his time with Scouts BSA, including mentoring many scouts toward their Eagle rank. He was recently awarded the District Merit award for his dedicated service. Among other hobbies, he enjoyed refurbishing antique tractors. He taught with the Northwest R-1 School District for 25 years and was a long-time member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Eureka. He was known as “the fixer of all things” and will be remembered as a caring friend who was quick to assist anyone who needed help with projects. Born Oct. 11, 1953, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Harry Orin and Marjorie (Clotfelter) Weiss.
He is survived by his wife: Lisa (Schikore); two children: Jonathan (Kendalynne) Weiss of St. Charles and Emily Weiss; two grandchildren: Ethan and Kaylea Weiss; a sister: Barbara (Robert) Gorsky; a best friend: Richard (Janie) Brandel; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends.
A graveside service and burial are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, April 25, in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill. A celebration of life is scheduled from 3:30-7 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at Bishop’s Post, 16125 Chesterfield Pkwy. W, in Chesterfield. Memorials may be made to Scouts BSA (Troop 722) at troop-722-high-ridge-mo.square.site, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church of Eureka’s Cornerstone Ministry at secure.myvanco.com/L-Z4Q0/campaign/C-12AKG or another organization of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
