Ginger L. Johnson, 59, of Barnhart died Aug. 30, 2025, at Scenic View Nursing in Herculaneum. Ms. Johnson was a retired registered nurse at St. Anthony’s Hospital. She enjoyed traveling, attending St. Louis Cardinals games and taking care of stray animals. Born Feb. 1, 1966, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Catherine (Dixon) and James “Buddy” Johnson.
She is survived by two siblings: Laura Sexton of Hillsboro and Cindy (James) Smetzer of Festus; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother: James Johnson Jr.; two brothers-in-law: Marvin Boehme and Bill Sexton; four grandparents: LeRoy and Myrtle Dixon and Genius and Laura Johnson; and a niece: Camille Sidwell.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until services at noon Thursday, Sept. 11, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by Karen Kitchen. Burial will be in Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
