Gilbert Conrad "Peachy" Jones, 70, of Festus died Jan. 27, 2024, in St. Louis. Mr. Jones was a mechanic and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He made picnic tables in his pastime and loved watching the San Francisco 49ers. Born Dec. 3, 1953, in Wentzville, he was the son of the late Christine (Morton) and Gilbert Jones.
He is survived by seven children: Carol Jones of St. Petersburg, Fla., Stephanie Jones of St. Louis, Jason Jones of Festus, Robert Sims of Festus, Felicia (Stephen) Joedicke of Festus, Grace of Springfield and Mandy (Elgin) Bland of Bowling Green, Ky.; four siblings: Brenda Pittman of Festus, Inez Jones of Wentzville, Odessa Carr of Festus and Omar Jones of Trenton, N.J.; eight grandchildren: Annisha of St. Louis, Symone of St. Louis, Kamila of St. Louis, Jaydence of Festus, Payton of Festus, Kinnerly of Festus, Xavier of Kentucky and Shyla of Kentucky; a great-granddaughter to be born in August; and an aunt: Barbara Parker of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by four siblings: Carol, Rosie Lee, Deborah and Robert.
A celebration of life will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at Larry Crites Park, 2232-2292 Hwy. A, in Festus, pavilion 11.
