Gerald Raymond “Jerry” Cole, 80, of Pevely died Nov. 12, 2023, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis. Mr. Cole liked to watch Westerns, especially John Wayne movies and do crossword puzzles. He collected guns and knives. Born Oct. 9, 1943, in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of the late Anna Lucille (Beeson) and Noble Wayne Cole.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Judy (Bryant) Cole of Pevely; two children: Sarah Cole of Pleasant Hills and Wayne (Sara) Cole of St. Louis; a sister: Linda (the late Jeral) Cole Eaton of Lakeland, Fla.; two grandchildren: Stacy LeAnne (Matthew) Anksorus and Riley Cole; as well as his dog: JJ Cole.
He is preceded in death by two children: Sally Cole and David Lee Allen (Laurie survives of Ozark) Cole; and two siblings: Barbara (the late Walter) Winesburg and Scotty Wayne Cole.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a service at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, Vinyard Funeral Home Hillcrest, 9115 Commercial Blvd., in Pevely, officiated by Pastor Jeff Purvis. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Pevely. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home Hillcrest.
