George M. Manning, 88, of Florissant, formerly of Herculaneum, died Jan. 31, 2026, at Kingsland Walk Senior Living in University City. Mr. Manning served in the U.S. Army and was a retired interior decorator for McDonnell Douglas and Boeing Aircraft. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and hunting. Born April 14, 1937, in Shirley, he was the son of the late Malissa Ann (Wells) and Richard Manning.
He is survived by his wife: Dorothy Lee (Harris) Manning; a son: Michael Allen Manning of Las Vegas, Nev.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Dora Mae Anderson, Charlene Townsend and Mary (the late Leroy) Alexander; and four brothers: Robert Manning, Dual Manning, Ben Manning and Alfred (the late Clara) Manning.
A graveside memorial with full military honors is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
