Gene T. Pruitte, 66, of De Soto died Feb. 15, 2026, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Mr. Pruitte was an employee at Gordon's Stoplight Drive-In in Festus for 20 years, as well as at Ram Tire and Wheels for more than 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, arrowhead hunting, playing with his dog, Gus, and raccoon, Ricky, and spending time with friends. Born Aug. 4, 1959, in Festus, he was the son of the late Thomas Pruitte and Earlene (Govro) Pruitte.
He is survived by two children: Jill and Jeremy; two brothers: Guy Pruitte of De Soto and Thomas Pruitte Jr. of Arkansas; his girlfriend of 25 years: Linda Miller of De Soto; his grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Debra Pruitte; a brother: Dennis Wayne Pruitte; and two sisters: Penny North and Londa Myers.
