Frank L. Ames, 73, of De Soto died March 25, 2024, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Ames retired as chief operating engineer instructor for Sperry Rail and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Amvets Post 48 and V.F.W. Post 1831. Born Dec. 14, 1950, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Betty Smith and Robert Ames and stepson of the late Catherine Maness Ames.
He is survived by his wife: Kathleen “Kathy” (Pinson) Ames of De Soto; two children: Kyle Ames and Ian Ames; a stepsister: Dianna (Jim) Bell; and many other family members and friends.
A visitation was held March 28 at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto. Arrangements were under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
