Florence Irene (Rhomberg) Dorshorst, 92, of Festus died March 9, 2026, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Dorshorst was a homemaker who took pride in caring for her family. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Hillsboro and the Knights of Columbus Council 6401 Ladies Auxiliary in Hillsboro. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, cross-stitching, collecting Jewel Tea and antiquing. Born July 12, 1933, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Carl Anthony Rhomberg and Mabel L. (Arkes) Rhomberg.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Anton Dorshorst.
She is survived by a son: Neil (Renee) Carron of French Village; two daughters: Diane (Michael) Maxson of Kissimmee, Fla., and Michele (Steve) Foshee of Desloge; three stepsons: Gregory (Debbie) Dorshorst of Raleigh, N.C., Stephen (Becky) Dorshorst of Naples, Fla., and Michael (Jamie) Dorshorst of Missoula, Mont.; a stepdaughter: Teresa (Steve) Dorshorst of Hillsboro; two sisters: Eleanor Thomas and Marion Hoelzer, both of St. Louis; 23 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled from 3-8 p.m. Friday, March 13, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave, in Festus. A funeral service is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 703 Third St., in Hillsboro, officiated by Father Steve Lian. Interment will follow in Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery in Hillsboro. Memorials may be made to the Knights of Columbus Council 6401 Ladies Auxiliary or Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
