Faye (Moder) Parkinson, 81, of Byrnes Mill died Feb. 17, 2024. Mrs. Parkinson’s efforts led to the establishment of the first initial gifted program at Northwest School District. She went on to be the principal of Cedar Springs. She also served as the city clerk of Byrnes Mill and played a role in its founding and development. A lover of nature, she possessed a green thumb and a passion for horticulture. She loved tending to her greenhouses in her spare time. She will be remembered for her selflessness, compassion and dedication. Born Sept. 3, 1942, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Livinus and Pearl (Renz) Moder.
She is survived by her husband: Robert “Red” Parkinson; three sons: Jeff, Tim and Greg Parkinson; two grandchildren: Zoe and Sophia Parkinson; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Livinus and Joseph Moder.
Services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
