Haynes, Etta

Etta Opal Haynes, 94, of Herculaneum died Nov. 12, 2024, at Scenic Nursing Home and Rehab in Herculaneum. Mrs. Haynes worked as a motor and coil winder for Baldor Electric. She enjoyed crocheting doilies and admiring antique cars with her family. Born May 18, 1930, in Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Prentice and Betty Prentice.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Harvey J. Haynes.

She is survived by three sons: Larry (Ellen) Haynes of House Springs, Donnie (Janet) Haynes of Festus and Denny (Vickie) Haynes of Park Hills; eight grandchildren: Lisa, Jeremy, Cathy, Brian, Michelle, Ricky, Dennis and Robert; seven great-grandchildren: Myles, Julia, Mason, Thatcher, Madison, Desi and Payton; a great-great-granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by nine siblings: Gene Prentice, Wayne Prentice, Ray Prentice, L.C. Prentice, Junior Prentice, Vernon Prentice, Ethel Prentice, Wanda Mallow and Betty Gaddy.

Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. until services at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus, officiated by the Rev. Ryan Sutton. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the Peace Pantry, 8100 S. Industrial Drive, Cedar Hill, 63016. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
