Steger, Eric

Eric Richard Steger, 74, of Antonia died Jan. 24, 2025. Mr. Steger retired from St. Louis Laborers’ Local 110 after more than 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. He cherished time spent outdoors, especially fishing and boating, and sitting under shady walnut trees. For many years, he was easily found on a local barstool, especially at the Old Antonia Inn. He was known for his resilience and quiet strength. Born Aug. 31, 1950, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Richard and Shirley (Begelsbacher) Steger. 

He is survived by his wife: Lynda S. (Hunter) Steger; a daughter: Abbey L. (Erik) Wild; a stepson: Duane C. (Tracey) McClinton; three grandchildren: Krystalynn (John) Glore, Frank (Rebecca) McClinton and Kameron McClinton; four great-grandchildren: Tucker McClinton, Emma McClinton, Fiona Glore and Theodore Leslie-McClinton; three siblings: Sandra Hillen, Victoria (Robert) Parson and Deborah Huffman; and many other family members and friends.

A celebration of life is scheduled from 1-4 p.m. with a eulogy to be given at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at Knights of Columbus Hall, 1623 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold.
