Ellen O'Brien, 65, of House Springs died July 25, 2024, in St. Louis. Ms. O’Brien was an employee of Jeffco Subcontracting Incorporated for 30 years and was awarded for her contributions. Over the course of her life, she traveled the U.S., including visits to Hawaii, Hollywood, Washington, D.C., and Hershey, Pa. She was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan and had a deep love for film and music. She took great pride in caring for her parrots. She had a passion for needlepoint, especially creating pillowcases to commemorate special moments for her family and friends. She also had a talent for recalling all of her family and friends' birthdays and anniversaries. Born June 15, 1959, she was the daughter of Mary (Jahnsen) and the late Eugene O'Brien.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter: Erin; two brothers: Mark O'Brien and Patrick (Lindsey) O'Brien; and numerous family members and friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, at Our Lady Queen of Peace, 4696 Notre Dame Drive, in House Springs. Burial service will follow in Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery. Memorials may be made to My Place Too Residential Services’ resident fund, 1107 Clarke St., De Soto, 63020. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
