Douglas R. Dodson, 74, of House Springs died April 21, 2026, at his home. Mr. Dodson was an avid reader who found joy in fishing, golfing and listening to music. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he carried that sense of duty and strength with him. He also enjoyed keeping up with the news and politics. Born Dec. 5, 1951, in Springfield, he was the son of the late Roscoe V. “Rocky” and Mildred M. “Micky” (Wallace) Dodson.
He is survived by his wife: Roberta (Riggs) Dodson; three children: Ryan Dodson, Mallory (Dan) Morgan and Katie (Ryan) Snudden; three grandchildren: Leanora Dodson, Naomi Dodson and Esther Snudden; two siblings: Dwight Dodson and Duane Dodson; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by two siblings: Dallas Dodson and Dennis Dodson.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. A funeral service is scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday, May 1, at the mortuary. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
