Dorothy M. Powers, 93, of De Soto died April 8, 2026, at StoneBridge Senior Living in De Soto. Mrs. Powers worked in the cafeteria at the De Soto Public School District. Born April 1, 1933, in Delta, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Florence (Ginton) Parthree. She was raised by the late Harold and Laura Etter.
She is survived by her husband: Daniel J. Powers Sr. of De Soto; two children: Kathleen “Kathy” (Ron) Null of De Soto and Daniel (Pamela) Powers Jr. of De Soto; five grandchildren: Elisha (G.W.) Harrison, Andrea (Mike) O’Keefe, Daniel E. (Casey) Powers, Justin Powers and Ryan Powers; six great-grandchildren: Landon Harrison, Benjamin Harrison, Liam O’Keefe, Evan Powers, Hunter Powers and Ethan Powers; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Lois (Bill) Stubbs; and two brothers: John (Jean) Holmes and James (Roberta) Robertson.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a funeral service at noon, Saturday, April 11, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by Pastor Mark Hofferber and assisted by Pastor Steven Flo. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
