Dorothy J. “Dottie” Kite, 93, De Soto died July 10, 2024, at StoneBridge Senior Living in De Soto. Mrs. Kite worked as a bookkeeper and was a member of First Baptist Church in De Soto. Born Jan. 25, 1931, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Lucille (Uland) Livengood and Lawerence Isbel. She was the stepdaughter of the late Woodrow Livengood.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Marvin E. Kite.
She is survived by a child: Gerald “Jerry” (Mary) Kite of Hillsboro; a sibling: Ruth (Joe) Coleman of Holt Summit; a sister-in-law: Carolyn Livengood of Valle Lake; and many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by two sisters: Joyce (Harry) Wideman and Thelma (Bob) Blum; and one brother: Woodrow Jack Livengood.
Visitation is scheduled from noon until a service at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Brad DeLaughter. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
