Dorothy Grace (Buesking) Combs, 67, of Imperial died Sept. 29, 2024. Mrs. Combs enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a gifted cook, known for her chicken and dumplings. She loved to travel, with the beach being her favorite destination. She also enjoyed shopping, and her husband Michael affectionately called her the "$100 per day woman.” She passed this love for shopping down to her children and often enjoyed taking them on outings. She loved animals and had a horse named Midnight, along with several dogs, a cat and a flock of chickens. She will be remembered for her warm and loving spirit. Born July 9, 1957, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Vivian (Despain) Buesking.

She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years: Michael Combs.

She is survived by seven children: Geraldine Combs, Michael (Jamie) Combs Jr., Penny Ingram, Floyd Duncan, Amber Duncan, Dorothy (Reis) Bridges and Tabitha Duncan; three grandchildren: Aaliyah Combs, Jade Combs and Thomas Walsh; two great-grandchildren: Lailah Duncan and Eliana Frohlichstein; and many other family members and friends.

She also was preceded in death by five siblings: Robert Buesking, Andrew Buesking, Mickey Buesking, Laurie Simmons and Frederick Buesking.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 10301 Big Bend Road, in Kirkwood. A funeral Ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at the mortuary. Burial will follow in Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
