Byers, Donald

Donald Tony Byers, 90, of De Soto died Feb. 18, 2025. Mr. Byers was known for his warmth, hard work, dedication and love for his family and friends. He owned and operated Don Buyers Tape and Painting for more than 50 years. In his free time, he loved playing music with his band. Born Nov. 21, 1934, in Mineral Point, he was the son of the late Delia (Rowland) Byers and Arch Byers.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Ruby (Whitter) Byers.

He is survived by two daughters: Nancy (Doug) Bowles of Park Hills and Carol Stengel of De Soto; a special friend: Viola Maness; four grandchildren: Casey (Cord), Jeremy (Faith), Aaron (Annabelle) and Jarod (Melissa); 11 great-grandchildren: Treydon, Braelynn, Bryson, Winston, Gannon, Cali, Kendal, Kylie, Claire, Madelyn and Thomas; a brother: Byron (Kim) Byers of Festus; and many other family members and friends.

He also was preceded in death by four sisters: Kathleen "Kay" Westbrook-Boyer, Sybil Winkleman, Glenna Isgrig and Judy Cooper; and three brothers: Earl, Arch and Roger Byers.

No services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
