Donald L. Doerr, 85, of Arnold died Dec. 29, 2025, in St. Louis. Mr. Doerr served in the U.S. Navy and received an honorable discharge in 1961. He was a manager for an auto body and parts company and a member of St. John the Beloved Disciple Catholic Church. He served as a lector, Eucharistic Minister, choir member, brother of the Knights of Columbus and a volunteer in many parish ministries. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Born July 21, 1940, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Arthur and Magdalene Doerr, and his birth mother, Dolores (Hensing) Doerr.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years: Ida (Ludwig) Doerr; three children: Bryan (Lisa) Doerr, Andrea (Bertrand) Cook-Godin and Jennifer (Shawn) Kammien; seven grandchildren: Samuel (April) Doerr, Casey (John) Higgins, Joshua (Alexa) Doerr, Mykala Cook, Nicholas Cook, Alexander Kammien and Claire Kammien; two great-grandchildren: Ellie Doerr and Adeline Higgins; and three siblings: Lenore (the late Frank) Miles, Michael (Wendy) Doerr and Cheryl (Larry) Goodman.
He was preceded in death by a grandchild: Justin Godin; and a sibling: James (Charlotte) Doerr.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at St. John the Beloved Disciple Catholic Church, 4614 Blue Springs Drive, in Imperial, 63052. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to Vision of Peace Hermitages, 1000 Abbey Lane, in Pevely or to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. John the Beloved Disciple. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
