Donald David Demmon, 78, of Pevely died Nov. 16, 2023, at his home. Mr. Demmon served in the U.S. Army and he retired from Union Pacific Railroad. He was a lifetime member of the Abdallah Shriners and Active Lodge 158 in Atchison, Kan. He was a member of Mt. Horeb Chapter 43, Washington Council 2 and Hiawatha Commandery 13. Born May 16, 1945, in Atchison, Kan., he was the son of the late Romona (Jordan) and TJ Picraux.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Martha (Robinson) Demmon of Pevely; a daughter: Sarah (John) Elliott of Arnold; seven grandchildren: Jordan, Alex, Andrew, Brooke, Kiera, Lilith, and Jack; and a great-grandson: Luka.
He was preceded in death by a son: Brady Christopher Demmon; and a brother: Garold Demmon.
Graveside service will take place in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks at a later date. Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital, First United Methodist Church or local food pantries. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
