Dolores B. (Benson) Gregory, 93, of High Ridge died Jan. 21, 2024, in Fenton. Mrs. Gregory drove and served as librarian of the R-1 bookmobile. She spent many years as the secretary at House Springs Elementary. She was a Sunday school teacher at Fellowship Baptist in High Ridge and later taught a lady’s class at First Baptist in House Springs. She enjoyed gardening, canning, art, reading, listening to KMOX radio, St. Louis Cardinal’s baseball and spending time with family and friends. Born Sept. 25, 1930, in Conquest, Saskatchewan, Canada, she was the daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Lee) Benson.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years: Earl Gregory.
She is survived by five children: James Yarbrough, Robert (Bernadine) Yarbrough, Jane (Brian) Rea, Dan (Adrianne Sloan) Yarbrough and Joyce (Seamus Callaghan) Weckl; seven grandchildren: Luke (Aubrey) Yarbrough, Finn (Kate) Yarbrough, Micah (Cecily) Yarbrough, Bryce (Jessica) Rea, Clint Rea, Claire Weckl and Ulysses Yarbrough; a stepdaughter: Mary (David) Whitmore; three step-grandchildren: Nathaniel (Kristen) Whitmore, Brandon (Kristen) Whitmore and Jordan Whitmore; friend and roommate: Elsie Kalafatich; and many other family members and friends.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, March 2, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 4375 Gravois Road, House Springs 63051. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
