Rodgers, Dewey

Dewey Douglas Rodgers, 81, of Festus died March 20, 2024, in St. Louis. Mr. Rodgers worked as a truck driver for Terminal Transport and was a member of Teamsters Local Union 600 for 33 years. In his free time, he enjoyed welding, boating, hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and joke-telling. He will be remembered for his sense of humor. Born Dec. 26, 1942, in Sikeston, he was the son of the late Freeman and Olamae (Essex) Rodgers.

He is survived by his wife of more than 62 years: Sandra (Lindner) Rodgers of Festus; two sons: Jeff (Kristin) Rodgers of Saint Augustine, Fla., and Tony (Stephanie) Rodgers of Brandon, Miss.; a daughter: Brandy (Dave) Alliston of Festus; nine grandchildren: Jayce, Lindsey, Nicolas, Brant, Khloey, Charli, Gabe, Rhyan and Stevie;  nine great-grandchildren; and numerous family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son: Christopher Rodgers; and two grandsons: Anthony and Devyn.

Visitation is scheduled from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, March 25, at the chapel, officiated by John Albrecht. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
