Dennis Lee Nappier, 66, of Dittmer died June 1, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital following a short and sudden battle with lung cancer. Fondly known as "Napes" or "Big D" to his closest friends, Mr. Nappier graduated from Affton High School in 1975 where he was an esteemed member of the water polo team. Learning a love for carpentry from his father, he was a member and master carpenter of the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council. He was a member of the Cedar Hill Elks Lodge for many years. He also was a supporter of the Missouri Department of Conservation and the Arbor Day Foundation. He enjoyed barbecuing, relaxing at the river, listening to The Eagles, watching local sports teams like the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his core belief: "do unto others as you would have them do unto you," and his humorous life advice of "life's tough, get a helmet!" Born July 20, 1957, he was the son of the late Dorothy and Albert Nappier.
He is survived by his daughter: Sarah Nappier; his ex-wife: Sandy Nappier; his girlfriend: Sally Cox; and four nieces and nephews: Katy (Nappier) Jochum, Andrea (Nappier) Selk, Jacob (Nappier) Delashmit and Lisa (Nappier) Delashmit; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son: Andrew Nappier; and two brothers: Gary Nappier and Mark Nappier.
