Dennis A. Milfeld, 86, of Festus died April 14, 2025. Mr. Milfeld owned and operated De Soto Advertising, which specialized in real estate signs and outdoor billboards. At one time, he had more than 1000 billboards in the U.S., most of them for Fo-Jo Studio, which he helped make one of the largest mail-order film companies. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church in De Soto. He also attended the Chicago Art Institute, where he advanced his artistic talent. Most of all, he loved building custom hot rods, especially 1956 Chevrolets. Born Jan. 23, 1939, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Dana and Doyne (Johnston) Milfeld.
Visitation is scheduled from 9-10:30 a.m. Monday, April 21, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. A funeral Mass will follow the visitation at St. Rose of Lima Church, 504 S. 3rd St., in De Soto. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the De Soto Food Pantry, P.O. Box 552, De Soto, 63020. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
