David Wayne Gerber, 72, of Fredericktown died June 15, 2024, at his home. Mr. Gerber served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a retired supervisor from the PGP glass bottle manufacturing plant in Park Hills. Born July 25, 1951, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Dorothy (Baker) and Eugene Earl Gerber.
He is survived by his wife: Vennie (Hovis) Gerber; a daughter: Whitney (Kevin) Jones of Fredericktown; a stepdaughter: Andrea (Dustin) Owens of Desloge; a brother: Danny (Sharon) Gerber of Knoxville, Tenn.; and two sisters: DeeAnn (the late Michael) Naumann of south St. Louis County and Delena (Bob) Aronberg of south St. Louis County.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Darla (Eric survives in Arizona) Grossman; and a stepson: Bryan Kelley.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until funeral services at noon Monday, June 17, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Terry Crank. Burial will be in Hematite Christian Cemetery in Hematite. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
