Loewe, David

David Vance Loewe, 85, of De Soto died Sept. 5, 2025, at his home. Mr. Loewe was a computer engineer with IBM for 37 years, and he was a member of the NRA, the Arnold Rifle and Pistol Club and the Fort Hill Ram Rods. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling the world and appreciating the art of taxidermy. Born Nov. 25, 1939, in Bonne Terre, he was the son of the late Gertrude Louise (Dodson) and Floyd Charles Loewe.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years: Clara Josephine (Hylla) Loewe, whom he married on June 16, 1978; three children: Daniel Lee Loewe of St. Louis, Stephanie Rudloff of Festus and Kathryn Louise (Michael) Cukyne of Overland, Kan. four grandchildren: Anthony, Matthew, Avery and Lincoln; a sister-in-law: Mary Loewe of Carbondale, Ill.; six nieces and nephews: Kevin, Kimberly, Kris, Melissa, Andrew and Ana; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son: David Vance Loewe Jr.; two brothers: Joseph Loewe and Floyd (Linda) Loewe; and a nephew: Matthew Loewe.

A graveside service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, in Hagerstown, MD, 21741. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
