David Spencer Christian, 89, of Festus died April 25, 2024. Mr. Christian served in the U.S. Navy during the Cold War. He was a member of American Legion Post 1, VFW Post 3777, 40/8, Amvets Post 171 and Sons of the American Revolution. After his military career, he went on to work for Monsanto in data processing. He was also interested in genealogy and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Born April 28, 1934, in Barnes, Pa., he was the son of the late Florence Geneva (Smail) and George Julius Spencer Christian.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years: Bonnie Jill Christian of Festus; four daughters: Amy (Robert) Christian-McCormick of Lansing, Mich., Connie (Greg Liepsshutz) Christian of Lansing, Mich., Paula (Nevin) Koranda of Festus and Nova (Kim Giannoli) Politte of Saint Joseph; two sisters: Helen (the late Jim) Milliron of Carlisle, Pa., and Harleen (Ken) Graybill of Fisher, Pa.; four grandchildren: Tony Koranda of Festus, Ben (Dana) Koranda of Imperial, Joe Koranda of Festus and Henry Koranda of Festus MO; a great-granddaughter: Casey Koranda of Imperial; and many other family members and friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until funeral services at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus, officiated by Nevin Koranda. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 11835 Hwy. CC, Festus, 63028, Attn: Children's Ministry. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
