David Paul Westhoff Sr., 79, of De Soto died May 16, 2026. Mr. Westhoff dedicated many years of service to Chrysler, where he worked in the paint department. Following his retirement, he continued serving others through his work with Mahn Funeral Home. Outside of work, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and bowling. He served as a Boy Scout leader, coached Little League and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in De Soto and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hillsboro. He was also involved with the St. Rose parish picnic and parish activities. Born Aug. 27, 1946, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Christopher and Virginia (Coleman) Westhoff.
He is survived by his wife of more than 44 years: Susan Carol Westhoff of De Soto; three sons: James Beach of Potosi, Robert Beach of Festus and Christopher (Elaine) Westhoff of Farmington; a daughter: Deborah (Timothy) Kraus of Hillsboro; a brother: Christopher (Betty) Westhoff of Festus; a sister: Jeanie (Gary) Belleville of De Soto; 10 grandchildren: Abbi (Michael) Kurtzeborn, Matthew Beach, Katye Beach, Ryan Beach, Josiah Beach, Taylor (Michael) Hemminger, Teal Westhoff, Keith (Kathryn) Dennis, Dylan (Ashley) Kraus and Savannah (Ethan McClinton) Kraus; five great-grandchildren: Alex, Liam, Johnny, Harper Ann and Barrett; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son: David Paul Westhoff Jr.; and a daughter: Carol Sue Patino.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, May 28, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, May 29, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 504 S. Third St., in De Soto, officiated by Father Zac Povis. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
