David L. DeClue, 70, of De Soto died Dec. 30, 2024, at Hillcrest Care Center in De Soto. Mr. DeClue worked as a custodian at Jefferson Memorial Hospital and retired as a custodian for the De Soto Public School District. Born Dec. 22, 1954, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Aloyisius and Genevieve (Valle) DeClue.
He is survived by a son: Dustin (Kim) Manning of Hillsboro; three grandchildren: Ava, Maya and Elizabeth Manning; two sisters: Nancy Teer of Festus and Kay Kearbey of Crystal City; three brothers: Gary (Kathy) DeClue of Imperial, Larry (Doris) DeClue of De Soto and Tom (Mary) DeClue of De Soto; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Melinda Luebbers; and a brother: Mark DeClue.
A funeral Mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 504 S. Third St., in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Father Rodger Fleming. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
